Went to bed at midnite, and needed a morning "trickle" at about 5:30 am. Coal burning good, so I gave it a quick riddle only, and went back to the sack. the girls got up B4 me, so I'm assuming they did a little scraping and refilling, so can't accurately say how long the fire would've gone. we've been home off and on thru the day, but the coals have been going fine, with little tending. The temps did go to almost 50, but tonite we're back in the high 20s.
Lee, you asked quite a few posts back about a lever on the frt of the door. I didn't see what you meant until just now. The lever is the one that locks the door shut. You can get a good view of it in my reply just underneath it.
Tomorrow I'll be heading to Boston, to visit my son, so I'm assuming my stove will be out when I/we get home. (Probably about 12 hrs gone). At that time, I will clean the stove of all ash, and stuff some insulation around the skirting/liner, and see if that cuts down on any "secondary" air. Unfortunately I will also be gone the 31st, (my birthday
), till the 1st, so once again, the stove will go out. Tough to learn this thing, when I have to keep leaving it. Out for now.
