The Chubby Coal Stove Company is BACK in BUSINESS!!

A while back on the invitation of Larry Trainer, I took a ride down to the HQ of Chubby Stoves. Lots of interesting stuff was happening down there and I only wish I could have taken some pictures and told the WHOLE story....... My Trip to the Chubby Factory.. WOO HOO!

Last night I was talking to Larry on the phone and he mentioned that the interest level in Chubby's has continued to increase and he is continuing gearing up to meet the demand...........

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Chubby Coal Stove Co is pregnant and is officially back in business!

What does this mean? There are NEW CHUBBY'S coming off the assembly line shortly for the first time in over 30 years!! And NEW products ( ie stoves) are in the works. Lots of good stuff is happening....

And yes Larry did say I could post this info! I would never betray his trust.. It has been hard sitting on this info since last November.

Larry needs to work on his website skillz. At any rate, I'm glad that he's going back into production, they are cool little stoves. I had shown him at one point how to use Paypal. That would probably help him in his new endeavors.

That's great. I guess. I actually almost bought a refurbished one from Larry. But after all was said and done with shipping, it was gonna cost me about $1,200 for a non-blower Larry refurbished Chubby!! Well I figured that since these stoves are simple in nature by design and with them being basically a cast iron tube, was it really worth the extra $$ buying a Larry refurbished or simply picking up a used one on craigslist. Well, I found a lightly used indoor stored one for $400 that included the new fire pot and shaker design, then I spent $8 on a can of black stove paint, $4 for a wire brush drill bit attachment and sandpaper, $9 for a new piece of mica for the window, and $20 for new stove gaskets and she runs as good as new (and looks even more beautiful)!!

So I guess if $$ is no object and you're not a DIY'er then go for it. But a nice chubby can be had for way much less money with a little patience and elbow grease. I'm living proof.

Yes the Jr and Brickstone Chubby's will be back into production.

Its being worked on as we speak give him 24 hours.
