Power Vent question

Power Vent question

PostBy: cArNaGe On: Sat Dec 22, 2007 2:21 pm

I have an old cook stove in my kitchen. My inlaws put it there but they never ran it because of no chimney. Could I put a PV there? Or do you think the stack temps would be to hot for it?

As long as the draft is tuned properly (whatever that may be) it should work fine.

They don't get the big heat as they recirculate outside air into the hot exhaust bringing the temp down.

If you look at the drawing at "how a PV works", you will see inside the wall where the outside air is blended with the exhaust.

That cool. Mabye I'll think about it. I've been looking at getting a coal boiler the last few weeks. This cook stove has been sitting in my kitchen with no chimney for 6 years. It's a shelf right now. It came with the house and I was thinking about getting rid of it. There is no place to put a chimney unless I eliminated a window above it. Any idea on how much a pv cost?
Or how much money I'm looking at to set this thing up?
