sure sign that spring is near

Just came back from the lake, it's always a sure sign of spring when people go thru the ice. There were three very lucky people, two in one hole & one in another it's a good thing there is a hover craft at one fire dept.. It was a bit of a wait for them to haul the craft from the South end but all are safe, at least until their wives find out.

Anyone dumb enough to go on thawing ice deserves whatever horrible thing cokes to them. Sorry, but I do not feel sorry for them. What makes it even worse you say they are married? Which means they are adults they should've known better. Bunch of freakin morons.

Married and most likely BREEDING the next generation of dipsticks who will do the same thing (or worse) and probably not learn from the experiance either....

This kind of thing really gets under my skin. Sometimes the gene pool needs to be thinned out.

I never said I was sorry for them or they were anything but lucky. I was walking my dog down their this morning & told two of them that I would never go on the ice today, I even told them where I was told there are some hot spots & not to go & it was pretty near where they were stuck. The firemen said it happens every year & I guess the results aren't always the same. I think they should be charged for the manpower & equipment time.

No one through the ice this year, but last year, as warm as it was, we had to smokes out on 2 inch ice. A year rounder at the lake was yelling at them to get off of the ice. With some resistance they did and moved to another lake about 2 miles away. Same situation. People hollering at them to get off the ice. They didn't and that is where they drowned. Ice fishing, drinking and thin ice don't mix. You're destined to meet your maker.
