Let's ride. I can be in Montrose (where my brother student-taught about 40 yrs ago) in about 2 hrs. And you boys can show me/us around the twisties.

However, to pick up on what I assume is GPS humor, we do like to ride on pavement when possible. ;)

Sounds like a plan . I need to get out again this year . Referring to what Matt is talking about was a road just south of Forkston PA .It turned to a dirt road about 10 miles in,then literally went up over the mountain like a goat trail in 1 area .Matt was behind me and his bike got a little dusty I haven't heard the end of it since :D .Dave

GPS route?

No doubt this idea will bring arctic air in -- tomorrow! But right now, it's a (slightly moist) 55 degrees here along the Hudson.

Perfect riding temp.

I would like to get out again this year. But I'm a fair weather rider.

New bike though. Posted it in another thread somewhere.

Think Gerbings . Best thing I ever purchased for riding .Extended my season about 3 months . Dave

My wife has the $700 worth of Gerbings: vest, gloves and overpants. Which equips her to ride with me down to the mid-40's which is my practical limit in my lined but unheated Kilimanjaro gear. (I do have grip heaters.)

And one set of juice gear is a good thing, because the one place where the FJR doesn't have more power than you need is at the alternator! ;)

The first pictures are of my "former" '75 Sporty with Super Glide shocks to lower the back end and my '78 FLH'. These were scanned, as they were taken before I ever dreamed I'd be tethered to a 'puter or have a digital cam.

This second set of pix are of a Super Glide (not mine), which met with some bad luck after fueling. The carburetor caught on fire, back fired or something. Actually, this bike, which wasn't mine, was sold and brought back to life! I tried to put the fire out with a passer-bye's extinguisher, but it ran out, before the bike ran out of gas.

Here's a couple newer picture after I have tuned up, cleaned, polished my 1978 XS1100, it runs really good, just a bog at 2500rpm, but for a 30+ year old bike, runs good!

The first time I started up a Valkyrie the sound instantly reminded me of a Mazda car (why a Mazda in particular I don't know  ).

What a great ride though -- that bike doesn't really care what gear your in. Just twist & GO! Super comfy too.

Cap, how are those big dual-sports off road? A handful? My DRZ with it's tall seat was a handful for me at 5'4" on tight mountain bike trails -- I couldn't imagine taking a V-Strom down there!

I'm looking for my old photo album to scan some pics of days gone by. I wish I could get my VHS video of me doing 110 one-handed while filming in Arizona on Highway 89A somewhere. Might have still pics of the same scenario though.... I can't remember.

Have to wait for the wife to get home from work, because I think the albums are at the very bottom of a 15 foot pile of her *censored*!
