How can we compete?

How can we compete?

PostBy: coalnewbie On: Mon Mar 11, 2013 6:02 am

Oh, no. Just down the road I see OSHA, NIOSH inspectors, child abuse groups, violation of labor laws, the unions asking for membership cards (they don't care if he kills himself but they do need to see allegiance and monthly dues), liberal "sweat shop" whining, etc.etc.

Now this kid is getting an education!

OMG....thats insane  The kid does not even look behind when backing up (mahhh... if somethings their just crush it I guess  )
that father is totally insane... I know the kid clearly has skill and im sure grew up next to dad running this equipment but to give him total control like that is just asking for disaster to happen

That kids been doing that for awhile, does a better job than many grown men I've seen, doesn't beat the equipment either. Is that a Chinese J.D.or one of their own, it's gonna be the other way around here soon, there will be a 70 year old that can't remember how many buckets of what & just hoping he lives long enough to retire & get S.S.. 8-)

OMG! He's not wearing a seatbelt :shh:

Seriously, I was doing the same thing when I was 5 years old. I was told if I could get into the cab by myself, I could drive whatever I wanted... Loader, dozer, Steam Shovel, etc... I drove em all.
But that was a couple hundred years ago.....

You can't do it today....

I would suggest that kid is the owners kid based on the clothes he's wearing.

Poor kid wouldn't fit in around here at all. He can do something useful and I didn't see him talking on a cell phone or texting.

or playing video games 24/7. I'm impressed and my hat's off to him although he looks like he'd rather be playing in the sand than moving it around.

When I was 10, my Mom had a teacher conference with my 5th grade teacher and she said I was a good kid, but lived in a fantasy world. My Mom was shocked and said I was one of the most honest kids she knew, almost to a fault, and the teacher was like, "well he is always talking about driving a bulldozer and cutting wood." My mom quickly informed her that I was doing just that.

Back then we had a John Deere 1010 and my Dad cut wood. On the weekends and school vacation, he would cut the trees down and then hook them up to the bulldozer. At age 10 I was expected to drive the bulldozer to the yard, unhook the trees and then return the bulldozer back to where my Dad was cutting the next "twitch" as we called it.

Today we do the same thing on our farm, and have some of the kids running tractors at age 9-10...

I could probably whip that kid's ass. Not only that but I know how to use a broom, how to kick a tire and how to blow up a balloon.
