Battlefield Bad Company 2 only. We went to the BF3 but it is maddening to play. Most of the guys in my group refuse to play it. Had a couple guys go 50+ with 8-10 deaths the last time we played it. Virtually impossible in a small map with fast action. ON that note, I had to maps with over 50 kills just the other night, but died in the low 20's. That is more like realistic. Lifetime KD at about 1.1 almost .2 but playing higher then that. My KD numbers go0t so big it is hard to change the average. Over 42000 kills and 37000 deaths.
Some of the guys I have met and played with online are into some of the other games. I don't have time or money to buy bunches of games. I hate following the crowd and finding out the game sucks. We did the Left4Dead ones as a team, had fun with that.

BF3 is hard to beat in terms of FPS (the reason your having trouble is because you don't know the right peeps), MOH would be easier for you and still give some of the same atributes. Im going to stay clear of getting into this to much because its world I vowed to remove myself from long ago. :(

I ran through BF3 single player a few times. The story wasn't as good as the 2010 MoH. I haven't played any online games since Battlefield 2. Used to run my own squad and we'd have scrims every Saturday morning. Then on Sunday we'd have our debriefing and setup practice for the following Saturday. We had diagrams we'd email to each other of things that we wanted to practice. One of them was pretty cool, we set up a kill box. We'd camp in a "V" and then wait for the other team to get to the bottom of the "V' then open up on them. They had no where to go, there would be fire coming from everywhere. Worked well on Saturday scrims. We'd get the bleed early and hold it. We didn't even have to take all the flags. Just the majority of them, let them have one. They'd just bleed out.

Ran with a pretty good group of guys. We operated as a cohesive unit. Pretty cool when you could tell half your guys to take one side of the street on the Karkand map and they'd stick to that side of the street. Then you'd tell them to hold position as you took the other group to flank the flag and chase the campers towards the other group. I got real good with the Support kit back in those days. I'd setup on a rooftop and snipe guys from across the map. Got so good that the other team would make it a point to seek me out to kill. I ended up having to employ the snipers on my team for claymores so I could set warnings for myself. First claymore I'd begin to pack up. Second. Toss a few grenades then I'm gone.

I got BF3 thinking I'd go back to playing with them. They still play on the same servers but different games.

Maybe it's time to start. There are a lot of good games out there. You can even play Pong if you so wish.

I don't know....BF3 is so large, so detailed, with no dead spots on maps (its truelly an epic game), MOH is easier, smaller and a good place for newbies to get some practice but it just cant be compared to the shear size, scope and worldwide players of BF3... after my lev 99 Coln. got pwned I just had fun toying around though  half my accounts are probably still OK if you ever get back to it.

If by peeps you mean being able to run into a room full tilt, fire no more then 5 shots and hit 4 guys in the head for one shot kills, yeah, I don't have the right peeps. But I think you mean teammates. I have not been able to get the guys I play with to organize and play like IOF. They are just fraggers generally and complain when we meet a good team. That is rare however. At least in BFBC2. In BF3, it is a waste of time. And as to FPS, I run pretty good gear up until this year. I need to update my video card again but my Quadcore 955BE overclocked is not sweating to much running the new games. Just went to a surround sound gaming headset by Turtle Beach. That made a nice difference.

Ewwww... TES: O. No thanks. Zenimax Online took whawhat Bethesda Game Studios took years to create and ruined it in a matter of months. I love TES, but you couldn't pay me to play that pile of crap that is TES online.

The game I'm most excited for is Wasteland 2. I grew up playing Wasteland.

My son has a pair of Turtle Beach headset. I've got a pair of Logitech, I don't use them though.

My old friend Klook... If you only knew who I was in the gaming world (i came here to get away from all that)
If I had a dollar for everyone I have heard tell me they were a superstar in the gaming world I would be rich. I actually know a young fella in the development field. Couldn't tell ya what he is working on but he is in it. I don't claim to be great, I just am better then average in my experience. There are many variables and technology is a big one. Every single time I have increased the power of my PC, my KD goes up. Some are just ridiculously quick with the aim and fire. I know I am average there.
The guys I am talking about come into a map and can run down the middle of the street with 6 guys firing at them and kill everyone. taking hits (or not) all the way. Then tell everyone that they just suck and can't shoot. Or run around the map with a pistol, go 30 and 4 and shoot people from clear across the map, running. Or better yet, when they are running.
Not saying you didnt run up some big time awards or kudo's in the gaming world, but how do you quantify that? I have trophies and plaques from my boxing, baseball, softball, basketball days. (Most long since gone) Do they send you a tee shirt?

Kevin

And this is a funny place to get away from gaming? Was it consuming you that badly?

I don't know about pong, as I recall that can't be emulated becsue the arcade version wasn't 100% electronic. You can use an emulator like MAME to play just about any video game. Note this is the real deal as in you have to hit a key to "insert coin".

I'm going to to get a set of controllers and build cabinet for in the new bar when I get a chance.

The emulator is not the issue. Possession of the ROMS are, you are supposed to possess the original board if you want to emulate it on a PC.

There are some that have been released to the public from the original owners, those can be found here:
