Heard on the news that she's quoted as saying that she's studied the Constitution and is well "versed" in it's meaning.

I don't *censored* think so. If she knew what it meant she wouldn't of passed this bill and trampled our rights. What a *censored* whore. This entire administration blows, makes me sick to call myself an American. Such bullshit.

I agree with you 100% IOF---BUT--- remember, that Constitution is about nothing but interpretation--it also gives people the freedom of speech----or is that just with things we totally agree with??? The BITCH has a right to share her interpretations & unfortunatly, there are a lot of people out here that agree with her--misinformed or not

No, she's fine in voicing her opinion on the matter. However, when her voice changes our rights then that is a problem. She's going to take our rights away if this passes in the House and it isn't going to make a bit of difference to the criminals who don't give a *censored* about the laws in the first place. I'm just angry at the state of this country. I just feel like I don't have a voice. I vote, I write my reps...but my voice goes unanswered. It's very frustrating to know that you don't matter. If they take the 2nd, they'll take the 1st, then the 5th...then it's game over. We'll be standing in bread lines for 9-10 hours a day to buy one loaf of bread for $800 and be fed a bullet if we speak out against the *censored* in charge. I know I'm probably reading too much into it.

It only passed committee. It still has to pass both house and senate in regular voting. It's doubtful it will ever get passed the house. They don't even think the senate has enough people to ram it through. That being said don't give up e-mailing and writing representatives and senators, I even sent some to those democrat senators that are from gun friendly states. If they get enough e-mails they may cave. Full steam ahead.

I'm hoping it falls flat. They can't be stupid enough to pass a different incarnation of the same bill that went into effect in 1994 that proved to do very little in the way of stemming this "scourge" as the idiot called it.

I know I'm probably reading too much into it. Ya think???

Where is the "interpretation" of Congress SHALL....MAKE....NO ....LAW.....?

There you go using common sense again and being able to read common english. You should now by now that does not apply to anything that has to do with government. I also don't see where there is any ambiguity in the very clear intent of what was written.

That's what about half the Democrat Senators are saying to themselves right now including Reid who historically has been pro gun rights.

This will never pass in the House and I hope it comes up for a vote in the Senate. A very large percentage of the Democrats voting on this bill are in a lose/lose situation because they are going to piss off a lot of people no matter which they vote.

Requires background checks on all future transfers of assault weapons covered by the legislation, including by sale, trade or gift; (who does the BG check if your selling to your neighbor or friend and who gets to "approve this BG check"???)

Excludes antique firearms; all firearms operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and firearms used by the military, law enforcement and retired law enforcement (wait what! so if your retired law enforcement of some sort IE: prison guard, police, building inspector, justice of the peace, etc. your totally exempt from this law forever, even when you dont work anymore?)
