ridgeracing wrote:Congrats!! If your burning that hot at 2 1/2 on knob control, you may want to lengthen chain 1 link so that you can burn at lower settings during warmer weather. At #2 on my stove its about 250deg. and at #5 I am at 600deg. Dont want to run stove past 600deg. if possible. Good luck with srove, love mine!!
Don't forget also that there are many more variables in play. Mainly it being how hard the chimney is drafting. There would need to be a similar negative pressure in both the chimneys for both stoves to have a similar heat output at a similar setting. :-)

Yes, I agree. I have a very good draft in my chimney. My dampner stays 90% closed all season, even on 50deg. warmer days. Some houses don't draft as well I understand

You can certainly put one on ground floor, I don't no how well it would distibute heat to ends of house (long ranch). You need air movement, that is why mine is in basement with vents in floor for circulation. Most DS are radiant heat, I believe they only sell one model that has a fan, furnace model I believe. Thats the bad thing about ranch homes and fireplace/coal stoves, moving heat around.
