I'd be the first on board, especially if the majority of MA, NY & CA stayed behind.

Logic tells me that if a life form was able to "get past" the point of annihilating themselves and evolve further then they would not be hostile and would exhibit an appreciation for the value of life. Not saying they wouldn't take our resources lol... But I'm optimistic that they wouldn't wipe us out.. lol.... :D

I was thinking more along the lines of how we view something like insect pests. If a life form were able to get to this planet their intelligence is going to be so superior we're the ant. It's not a matter of whether they are being hostile but instead disregard for human life.

I think one of the best perspectives on the scale of the Universe can be found in the bible actually in Genesis 1:16...

Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

It is the last part that really puts God in perspective because of the nonchalant way it is put; he is so powerful that it is as if making the stars was nothing; a trivial thing, like maybe one of us going to the grocery store or something, just am off-handed remark..."Yeah he made the stars too." No big deal...

It really boggles the mind, that with so much that is out there, and stars being discovered daily, you realize the magnitude of our creator, and yet while he is inconceivably powerful, John 15, verse 15 brings it back down to earth...

No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

To me, this is the amazing part, that despite being the creator of it all...a dumb little sheep farmer who cannot comprehend the scale of the Universe he created; to be his friend. Powerfully creative to the point of incomprehension, yet so approachable.
