I would not call it a conspiracy either, just sad that when our people were / are doing alot of good things it's not news. Barbra Star of CNN was asked about this and she came right out and said that the lack of bad news Iraq was not worthy of coverage. So it's not as if they're trying to hide it.

I will say though that it's my belief that the Left is invested in defeat, I believe they think this is their new Vietnam and a way to garner their power back. It may actually work.

When was the last time you saw a news helicopter (whether CNN, Fox or whatever) hovering over a truck, pointing out that it WASN'T on fire!

There is a left leaning bent to the media. That's not even debatable. They don't report what doesn't fit their agenda. That's painfully obvious from the local news to the national news.
People that tend to go into journalism and into education by in large are left leaning. There are some who are not but they are marginlized and shunned by the "mainstream".

.........."There is a left leaning bent to the media. That's not even debatable"....

So your opinion is not even open to questioning, eh? (is that you George? (Bush) or maybe it's the lord himself??

At the risk of havimng you hurl a bolt of lightning at me, I would ask if you ever listen to those screaming liberals:
Robert Novak
Sean Hannity
& anyone else who appears on Fox news?

You may not refute my words....I have spoken!

The real answer to media's bias is they are biased towards MONEY!!
They will report anything that will keep viewers tuned in to their ads...period. Maybe in the 1960's you liberal bias accusations may have been true, but not now. The almighty dollar is the only thing the media cares about, & worships!
( I took a journalism course in college & the first day of class, the professor asked the class "What is the purpose of a newspaper?"
After all the lofty answers the students responded with, such as: "To keep the electorate informed", "To write the first, rough draft of history", etc....The professor gave the real answer: "The purpose of a newspaper (& all commercial news media)......Is to make money!" "If we (media) weren't selling advertising space, we'd be selling toothpaste."

Fox news is the one obvious exception for those who haven't been on the moon for the last 10 years. By the way your "large type bold characters" are very annoying so if that's the effect you were going for, it's working.

Try this story on for size. I particularly like the part about Teddy leaving a women to drown getting his panties in a bunch about pouring some water on the face of a terrorist. White House Scores Knockout Over New York Times

The last time I checked, the First Amendment applies to all Americans, even officials who work at the White House.

I think it was right he went to new orleans and blasted the levees in an obvious attempt to kill the local population.

I don't know what your well known source is but so what if he did write it? It's true and the paper had to print a retraction.

I don't know how someone like yourself, who is slightly to the left of Rosie Odonnel, can justify burning coal to heat your home. How do you sleep at night? Don't you know you are murdering polar bears and ensuring that the oceans will rise 100' as you are melting the ice caps with your big fat carbon foot print? Maybe you're buying carbon credits from big Al so he can keep the lights on in his Tenn. mansion.

I've tried to be civil but I gotta tell you buddy, you're a wack job. Shouldn't you be on the soy forum? Will the last remaining human please turn the lights off?

I'd love to spar with you some more but Dick Cheney just called. He's sending a black helicopter to pick me up so I can go do his bidding. By the way, he said anytime you want to go hunting, just let him know.
I note you are a retired federal worker. Why doesn't that surprise me? Been on that Federal teat your whole life I bet. Never had a real job in the real world or ran a business. Gotta be a democrat to keep that gov'mnt growing so they send you that check every month. I live practically in the shadow of Wash. DC and I am familiar with the mental midgets who are lifer Fed employees. You must be so proud.

Thank god you're not my neighbor or brother in law.

And with that said, I'm calling a halt to my part in this stimulating exchange. I hope I haven't violated forum rules in outting you as a wack job. It's not worth the time or key strokes.

Your " black helicopter" line is wearing pretty thin since you use it in al most every thread. ......Tell you what, as HAL says in 2001 A Space Odyssey: "This conversation can have no further purpose. Goodbye Dave."

I'll have to take your word for that one space cadet devil. I'm not a fan of "fantasy space movies". That's more a past time of the earth shoe/quiche eating crowd. :wtf:
