In the link it appears to say the death threats are coming from outside MA. If there's any "only in MA" aspect to this, it's the tradition of St. Patrick's Day events that involve politicians skewering each other, and sometimes themselves, with candid - and almost always politically-incorrect - commentary regarding their personalities, actions and indiscretions. As far as I know, it started in South Boston, and has spread to become an annual event in many MA communities. If you're tired of the partisan talking heads that seem to appear everywhere else in the media, it's refreshing to see a forum where the politicians actually face a degree of accountability for at least some of the things they have said and done, and do so with wit and bi-partisanship. To me, the tradition is one of the positive features of living in MA. If someone unfamiliar with the process takes some comment out of context, that's their problem.
