whats the depth and length of the fire brick when you need to replace it? and whats the cost usually? thanks.

Unless they are curved or special on some way or another, the firebrick are in two standard sizes, 1"x4.5"x 9", and 2"x 4.5x9". These sizes are from memory, so I may be off a little. But just ask for half thick or full thickness firebrick at any brick sales place or lumberyard that carries masonry supplies. They cost between $1-$2 each.

I'm looking for some fire bricks and so far the only ones I've found are $4 to $5 each. I need to keep looking.

Call the brickyard or masonry supply store, you should pay no more than a $1-1.50.
