Hey, I noticed today, my one glass was cracked. I cannot feel and "draft" coming from it, but would feel safer if I could put some sort of high temp chaulk on it. Any recommedations?

Your stove is under a slight vacuum, the draft from the chimney. So if anything, the crack might draw a little room air into the stove, nothing should com out unless you get a 'puff-back'.

If your glass is held to the door securely so that the pieces can't come out or get separated, I'd just leave it alone..
I don't think anything but furnace cement will hold up to the heat, and that would be very ugly on the glass.

Is this where I confess that Dave sent me two steel door replacements but I was too lazy to fit them and I have left the crack in the glass door alone for the whole winter without issue..... OK,OK, Dave I said I needed it ASAP, I swear I will fix it before next winter.

You're coming up, SOON I HOPE, on a major maintenance time. I'd order the glass so I had it & do it when I shut down. Just an old farmers thoughts:)

The EFEL that I had had a cumulative 1/4" of space among the 24 slats. When it heated I still had about 1/8" gap. I never had explosions, as this factored into the 'over-fire' air that probably kept the explosions away. Unless the glass is going to fall out, I'd not worry about it.

is it ceramic or glass? Im finding it cheaper and easier half the time when needing an arch cut ceramic to simply buy a crapper stove on GL and steal the glass, scrape the stove  Might as well be buying gold for the money they charge on that Ceramic crap
