Topics everyone's afraid to touch - Islam & immigration

EXCELLENT article on these topics here. It seems everyone bends over backwards to please the world because they don't understand The Constitution.

I never realized how far away from that precious Document we have got, until I received my copy of Restoring The Constitution from FreedomWorks Foundation - it's basically a pocket Constitution. I should know all this stuff by HEART - EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD!! But, yet I do not. Sadly, it's not being taught .. and hasn't been in quite some time.

But back to the subject: http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/04/why-i ... n-america/

No disrespect, Smitty, I agree folks should read and understand the Constitution. Frankly, this woman is nuts and just bringing up the same tired arguments used in the past regarding everyone; Catholics, Italians, Irish, Welsh, Polish, Jews, whatever. It's crap. My ancestors are Quakers on one side and French Canadian Catholics on the other side, both groups who have been singled out as "unwelcome" at various times in history. I believe in freedom of speech and freedom of religion, even if the speech or religion are not representing views I believe in. No, Muslims cannot impose Shiria in this country. We all know that. I have no issues with Muslims or anyone else immigrating to this country to find a better life.

I don't think the issue is immigration, but uncontrolled immigration.

Sharia law is probably subject to the same abuses as our own system. Corzine would probably go scot free under either system.

Franco hit the nail on the head. You misunderstood my point, Rambler.

When people come here with no respect for our traditions and seek to change everything to suit themselves, that is a problem. The immigrants of days gone by assimilated. They learned English. They didn't bitch whenever we decorated the town Christmas Tree, or came home from school with Christmas cards. They didn't claim to be offended at this, that, & the other thing (can't keep track of their complaints anymore!).

When we keep bending over backwards for every person on the planet, what good does that do America? America was successful because it WAS better than the rest of the world! The Constitution created a system that pulled more people from oppression and slavery than any other EVER. We took a 5,000 year leap! Where do you think the rest of the world would be without us? Immigrants came here and were able to unleash their inventions upon the world without restriction or oppression. What would Nikola Tesla have done had he stayed in Serbia?

My great grandparents fled Lithuania via Germany while being shot at by Russians. Life was never easy for them, or my grandmother. They busted their asses just to survive. They had a hard time learning English, but they didn't demand that everyone speak to them in Lithuanian! They were victims of prejudice, like any immigrant. They kept it together, pulled through, raised my grandmother, & got to see their great grandchildren, all with roofs over their heads. They wanted a better life. They succeeded. The biggest point I'd like to make is that they loved America and it's traditions, and wouldn't change ANYTHING!!

Yeah, I hear you Franco - Corzine has alot in common with a certain Kennedy of the past.
