This weather is getting depressing so I had an idea to invite a few coal burner guys from around my area (there are not many) to an informal get together - nothing fancy. I also provided the bait of a, new to me, stove arriving for group amusement. It must have just slipped my mind to reveal that this stove had me salivating all along:

Peninsular Base Burner

PA, you are asleep wake up... it's fabulous

It's been for sale for a year, first at $1600, then $1200 but if I told you what I paid for it I would have to kill you. As it was for sale in Tobyhanna PA, Poconoegle kindly agreed to look it over and gave it the thumbs up. So I got it delivered yesterday at NOON. Darn it would you believe it that happened to be the exact time I had suggested a group of the guys from this board came over for light refreshments. So the collected ensemble came with couple of hundred man years of anthracite expertise, two state moderators, base burner experts, post grad metallurgists etc.etc. you get the idea and in came the stove gosh darn it. I was all ready to provide a small cup of indifferent coffee and a cookie for coming over but guess what they were crawling all over it, tearing it apart, providing expert tips on how to set it up, how to resolve some issues how lucky was that. Sheer coincidence of course. but sometimes these things just happen. We had a really great day, at least I did. I showed them around the farm and they commiserated about my heating nightmare.

I won't identify the players as some may wish to remain anonymous and others I suspect may be wanted by the FBI. :)

I may be a newbie but I am not stupid

I do believe I was the dumbest one out of the group. But it was a blast anyway.

due to the FBI being kinda busy with pressure cookers, a few of us soared under thier radar. Although after looking at some of D.A.R.P.A.'s projects in the many, many sheds and barns, I thought I saw men in white coats with a funny long sleeved white coat skulking around......... 8-)
