Great Wiz, hope you can make it. It'll be good to put some faces to the avatars . . . since we live so darn far apart ;)

Got back from the meet and greet last night about midnight!

Had a great day meeting those who attended and totally enjoyed the atmosphere in the woods at the cabin. The cabin is located on a nicely treed lot with wooded background. There we some things we had never seen but will be building here at home like the turkey feeders! We have a great population here of deer and turkeys. The cabin had some picture albums showing the great history of the building of the cabin over many years. We met three generations of family members.

Great job to Rich S. for his feeding of the troops! The London Broil, burgers and everything else, yummy! If you left hungry it was not because of a lack of food. We arrived at 11am Richard was doing the food prep, and started cooking and was still cooking when we left after 5pm.

One of the highlights of the day was when Dave Donnora from Leisure Line rolled in with his truck and trailer with a working, whole house, anthracite burning stoker. I know what you’re thinking, and no it was not running until he torched it off for all to see. After 5-10 minutes he had a fully functional stoker furnace from the auto feeder to the ash pit. This unit was producing some really serious heat. This was a really cool touch.

I was considering bringing a hand fired Coal Stove Chubby but the weather was predicted to be cloudy/rain. We did drive through some very heavy rain Friday night, and that would have been a problem. Maybe next year. Nice to meet all of you people. See you next year! :D

Actually I don't think there is many. I have some of Dave firing up his Stoker and a few others but I was too busy. Wood N' Coal or Vig might have some.

I want to thank everyone that came especially those that drove really far. "Mcgeiver" is probably about 2 hours into a 6 or 7 hour drive right now but he's taking coal home with him so it should pay for the gas at least. WAs a good time but I think next year we'll do it in the fall and hopefully get a better turnout.

McGeiver was the only one that stayed from the forum. But he didn't get there until like 8 or so.

I only took two myself. The first one is Dave from LL with his stoker. The second is from left to right Larry Trainer, VigIIPeaBurner(Dave) and Wood N' Coal(John).

Yes lighting a 220K coal furnace in the middle of the summer in a driveway was a bit odd. Next year we'll have it in the fall and we can all sit around it at night as our campfire.
