Am I mistaken or is it actually June 04? Just wondering since we are going to have frost again tonight. I'm not complaining, I love the cooler temps. The last frost took a toll on the bugs, so this frost should almost eliminate most of them. It looks like I'm not going to have apples from my trees this year and most of my large flowering trees did not flower due to the hard frosts we have had so far. I still have one of the coal stoves idling at 110 F. I'm hoping this cold weather trend we have going persists until fall. This way I can keep the one coal stove running without having to open the windows during the day. At my current burn rate I have enough coal to last another month to a month and a half.
So, those of you who miss the warm feel of your coal stove, bring some soda, java and whatever else to my house and hover around the still burning stove and get your coal fix. I might even be convinced to let you shake down and add coal to the stove. If this doesn't do it for you, we can go outside after adding a fresh load of coal and take in the aroma being emitted from the chimney. That should do it. So on that note, I'm off to shake down the stove and add some coal.
