Because my house is a piece of *censored*.

My wife calls me today, in a panic. "The washing machine is leaking!!!" she's screaming on the phone. I replied, "Well, there's nothing I can do about it now being 50 miles from home. It's going to have to wait."

So, I get home, pull the front of the machine off and......see nothing except a puddle on the right hand side of the machine. The drum is plastic. The pump is plastic. I'm just not sure where it could be coming from.

Could it be coming from the pump? Perhaps where the water comes into the machine? Perhaps the seal at the bottom of the drum?

I don't know. But I'm honestly getting sick of this *censored*. Every time I turn around something is broken. This machine isn't even three years old. God damned inferior Chinese *censored*. I was going to have someone come out and look at it but then my wife goes and tells me one of the women she works with had a repairmen come out and work on their washer and charged her $400 for a belt. $400 of a friggin' belt!?!?!

Find your make and model number and try this forum.
http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/washer-repair/
Chances are if yours is leaking water, it had happened to many similar models. I bought a Kenmore when the model was discontinued for about 50% off. Had one problem where drum would bang loudly and it ended up being a bushing drive of sorts. With the tool to replace it, was less than $50. Maybe try to run it with the panels off and peek in there with a flashlight. Maybe the drain hose leaking or the clamp.

BUT--if you haven't looked with panels off & the machine going through a cycle, you'll never know for sure what it is---like mozz suggested:)

Sorry, been trying to upload a video for the past 20 minutes. My phone takes MP4 HD videos. Of course the forum doesn't like MP4s so I tried to convert them to MP3. First program I downloaded game my computer a virus, so I had to do a virus scan. Then the second program was completely useless. So, I opted to upload it to YouTube. My first video. So, here it is.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMWb9d2Rvuw&feature=youtu.be

Hopefully it works. It's also funny that Mozz mentioned the drum making a racket while washing. That's exactly what it did for a month+; I even said to call someone to have it looked it.

So, what is the part that's leaking? Difficulty in changing it? Part expensive?

It's a 27" Frigidaire Laundry Center.

Let me know if you have issues viewing the video, I made have to change my video settings. I also think I'm going to stop buying *censored* from Sears. Unless they are tools. Their appliances and riding tractors are f'n junk,

MP3 is an audio file, there is no video.

You need to use WMV but that will be changing shortly. I'll probably be doing server side encoding just like YouTube so it won't matter what you upload....

Here's the directions for WMV but they are old and outdated.

That would explain why the second program just extracted the audio of the video.

Does the video I posted work for you, Richard?

Also, does anyone know where the model number would be located on this thing? I think I found it on SearsParts.com but I don't want to pull the trigger on them if I can't confirm the model number. It looks like I'll need the Spin Bearing, Screws for it, and the washer. Not sure what else I'd need. But it looks like it's going to be around $50 to fix.

*EDIT*

It actually looks like the parts are the same across the board for the Laundry Centers.

*EDIT*

Why in the hell is Sears shipping so expensive? $14 to ship a 3# package.

Sooo, did you put it through a cycle w/ the panels off & look for the leak or were you to bust screwing around with the video? You coulda been done by now! PS--either call a repair guy or buy a new washer---looks like a seal of some sort

Did you even watch the video? It's of my washer, with a load of laundry in it, going through a cycle. It's leaking from the spin bearing.

Parts list shows them as separate parts. I clearly need to change settings on my account so you guys can see the video.

Just FYI - I'd try to find the parts anyplace else online besides Sears. If they have a store in your state ( which I'm sure they do ...) then you get whacked sales tax on top of shipping. Also, if you spend some time searching, you can find better deals on shipping as well. This is how I roll. :D

Oh ... and NEVER EVER buy a Kenmore ANYTHING.

Fyi, Kenmore doesn't make anything. It is usually a Frigidare,Whirlpool, Maytag,Roper or something close with a Sears-Kenmore model number on it. They aren't bad, you just have to find the good model instead of the junk ones.
