homeowner insurance covered my downed tree's!

Partailly good news... as you all know, I had about 12 monster pine tree's downed by the 3 storms this past winter and even though they we in the woods, because some of them created eminent danger (hanging, leaning, etc) they are covered up to $1k per episode... The bad news is that after the first storm (Blizzard Nena or w/e it was called) the insurence co. changed their policy to a max of $500 per episode :(

Can someone tell me how many storms we had last winter (wasn't it like 12?)

Want more bad news? Wait until you get your next bill ....

When we first moved here I claimed the breaker panel in the basement - #1 because it was a Federal-Pacific (google that one ...) & #2 because water was pissing out the bottom every rainstorm.

My premium went up $300/year .... AND it didn't even cover the full replacement cost!

This is why I only buy and install Square D equipment.

But I too had a fire hazard panel originally, ITE Pushmatic 100 amp panel. I had problems where a circuit would trip and I'd go to reset it or find the problem and the breaker never popped. So, it'd end up being poke n hope I find the right one. It all got pulled out and replaced with a Square D QO 150 amp panel.
