Haha !

Well it doesn't matter , as usual I never received an email back. 75% of the time people don't email me back on Craigslist .

It's the same with companies too . They have a posting and I will email them my résumé and they don't even respond with anything. I wish people would have some common courtesy .

He probably wants like $100 for the elbow as well. That's not what I offered lol

Congratulations on the new stove. Can't the anticipation last until you fire it up next season?

I'm also seeing a Glenwood club forming here? Nortcan and I need some more members of the Bride club. :P

Craigslist is a joke no matter where you are. I find if the ad doesn't have a phone number the chances of hearing from the poster are slim.

You're right Fred what was I thinking ! And a hand shake means nothing!

Even if I go broke or have to swallow my pride I will always stand by my word. Shoot since I left my full time employment money has been tight so buying the glenwood probably wasn't in the budget but I gave my word and $500 to Doug at Barnstable so no matter what I paid for it!

I've usually had good luck with Craigslist... Glad you got the elbow. The damper is to lower the draft - you basically never use it... The base burner needs good draft... Of course, your mileage may vary...

Ok paid for the elbow just waiting on shipping guys! I am getting antsy to get the stove in place! I show everyone that comes through my door this stove ... Although they have all heard me talk about it for the past year or so. Everyone thinks its awesome . Anyways I think I'm going to put the car seat in the truck and ride up to the mountains with the wife and little one and load up the truck with rocks for the hearth

Obviously I have already paid for this but looking at it closer it looks like a 2 piece cast... Is this going to be an issue? Are they all like this?

I am still in search of an original glenwood elbow though. Hopefully this one works out .. I guess I am a pessimistic guy that's all lol.

If the righr size, your OK. These elbows are made from 2 pieces, mine on the Bride is like that except it has no air damper like the one on the photo.
Don't forget: we love photossssssssss :)

Mine is exactly like that except it is 5 inch. Glenwood Modern Oak 114. I don't see a problem.

Check the fit with a piece of 6 inch pipe. Mine is too tight and I had to flatten the seam and stretch the metal of the pipe a bit. Also check the seam on the elbow for air tightness and if necessary you could grind off a few high spots on the elbow joint to get a slightly smaller size to fit more easily to the pipe.

So I received the elbow. It's in great condition but the seam needs to be sealed . I'm thinking of welding it with silica bronze after I sand blast it . How would you normally seal these ? It is marked L.C. 115 USA on both sides . This mean anything to anyone?
