Teaching is an art like any other. You have to start with an inborn talent and develop it from there. Degrees mean nothing.

Many years ago I heard a very well respected educator interviewed on the radio. He stated he would rather have a talented high school graduate teaching than most of the college graduates.

Trying out for a sports team you have to have some athletic ability to make the team. After that the ability can be polished, but you have to start with some talent.

When I went to school maybe ten percent were outstanding and ten percent were lousy with the rest somewhere in between.

The outstanding teachers were very different one from another; some were very strict while others ran a loose ship, but teach they did according to their own talent, and not like some cookie cutter plan from college.

Wow, that kid was well spoken. That teacher also needs to find a new job. If I were that kid's parents I'd report the teacher to the school board.

i have been saying for years that our public schools are a failure, but all we do is throw more money at a failing institute. as you can see when someone finally stands up to address the situation they are told to sit down and behave, so much for freedom of speech.these high priced baby sitters can not take any criticism because they think they are the answer and know everything. my opinion of these teachers are they are just there to collect the goodies the tax payers hand them. any body can sit behind a desk and hand out work sheets, the public school system is nothing more than an expensive baby sitting venture. get the ^*$^%$&^%$*&^% government out of the schools and maybe, just maybe we will see an improvement.
