The magnitude of this international money laundering (to the tune of our nations GDP) brings the potential for public incredulity to a new level. And of course we all know that “Only the small secrets need to be protected. The big ones are kept secret by public incredulity.”

Translation: It's probably true, but the magnitude of it boggles the mind, so the mind rejects it totally and takes the blue pill in order for life to go on in our fantasy world as if nothing ever happened here.

How can anybody conclude that "it's probably true"? As far as I can see, it's one guy claiming he, and only he, has documentation of this scheme. But he doesn't actually supply anything other than text jammed with buzzwords. Have 750,000 tons of gold bullion ever been produced in the history of civilization? I know big conspiracies sometimes really do happen, but I'd like to see more evidence and fact-checking before getting too worried about this one.

FWIW, this same guy previously was the originator of a separate "big story" in which a mystery foundation supposedly was willing to lend England billions of dollars at 0 interest. Further investigation found no substance to it - http://www.zdnet.com/treasury-has-decid ... 010020975/ .

I was focusing on the 15 trillion dollar figure. Since many sources have said that the bailout exceeded the GDP, and the figure of $16 trillion (of fabricated out of thin air) dollars is commonly heard with association to the bailout, and the GDP is about $14.5 trillion, there seems to be credibility in that figure.

The main focus here (the incredulity part of it) however is that the entire financial crash may have resulted from Federal Reserve orchestrated shenanigans. Should we audit the Federal Reserve, or eat the blue pill?

I must have caught the bug, because I think I see the real conspiracy here. I think coalnewbie is, in fact, Lord James - remember he admitted right here on the forum that he's from England? - and he concocted the tall tale in the link to cover the fact that he personally lent $15 trillion from his Coal Appliance Acquisition Fund (CAAF) to finance the bailout. Now that the bailout funds are starting to be paid back, we've seen - again right here on the forum - the CAAF go back to its normal role of assembling the world's largest collection of coal-burning appliances. (He actually has 750,000 tons of them, but most are hidden under a TARP.)

Glad we got that figured out.

Mike

P.S. Sorry, Simon. I'm not sure whether to quit my day job and become a conspiracy theorist, or go for another CAT scan. I did pass the one I took after agreeing with jpete 4x in one day.

They did it before, what is so hard about believing they'd do it again?

You can rest assured that they won't do it again because Ben Bernanke promised Milton Friedman that he wouldn't ever let it happen again.  ;)

Since this is so, something else must have caused the 2008 crash, and it was probably just exactly as we were told by the Fed and Wall Street and the Banksters. We can surely trust them when they say that mortgages possessed by those who couldn't really afford them were at the root of it all (worldwide, I assume).
