Lewisburg schools on lockdown today

PostBy: mkline On: Wed May 22, 2013 6:57 pm

While working today I heard about a lockdown of all the schools in Lewisburg. They didn't say why on the first newscast, but the next one they said it was because an Airsoft magazine was left on a bus.Now I have shot an Airsoft gun but never looked at the mag.I would think they don't look like they could hold ammunition, just rubber bbs.I don't have a link for it because I just got home, and I'm a slacker toothy .

My wife just called me. She was getting my daughter ready for day school when she heard that the highshool where she goes to day school was on "lockdown" this morning. Turns out a kid went to his locker. Tried to stuff his book bag into and realized it wouldn't fit. So, he left it outside the locker on the floor. He then proceeded to trot off to class. Some retarded teacher just happened upon the book bag and went into full blown panic mode. She called the fire department, and the police department and quickly informed them that there was a bomb in the school. The PD and FD with the local bomb squad in tow show up, evacuate the school. Do a sweep, look through the book bag and discover....BOOKS!! OH THE *censored* HORROR!!!!

Is it too much god damned trouble to ask for some god damned common *censored* sense? Is it? We're led by sheep and taught by sheep. This is just one more thing in a long list of things that make me want to pull both my children out of school and home school them. But then my wife plays the, "Well, they need friends." card....ahh...really? How do you have friends when all they do is sit in front of a TV? My son is constantly telling me how there is nothing to do outside even though, there are trees to climb, woods to explore.....

I have no hope for humanity. Please great asteroid....kill us...

Books need to be banned from school. This kind of over vigilance just means the terrorists are winning. But how do you not take the precaution? Its a slippery slope for sure, with no good answers.

Oh it's ridiculous. My wife was telling me the other day that at the high school if you act weird you are removed from class, taken to the nurse and then carted off to the hospital. I was like "WTF?" apparently it's for drug testing. So my wife posed a, "Well, what if your kid just acts differently than all the other kids and that's his normal behaviour?", she was told it doesn't matter, they still get taken to the hospital and 99% of the time, the kids that are accused of drugs are just being themselves. This *censored* has got to stop. As far as I'm concerned the school has no right to take my kid to a hospital, search his/her belongings or accuse them of anything.

In fact the other day the middle school had mentioned to my wife something about our son. Of course my wife entertained them, I would've told them to go *censored* themselves.

So my question would be, where does ridiculous end & safety start. Dave covered it well, it's a slippery slope & there will be people whining no matter what. MAYBE parents REALLY should teach their kids appropriate behavior for different settings, Whoops, that's right, parents claim to be busy all the time--Hmmmmmm? :( YES, the book bag incident was over-kill---or was it????? Why didn't the kid take the book bag with him to class??? I'm curious to the actual facts here.

We are terrified of anything and everything these days. It appears that the terrorists have won. Their goal has been accomplished.

If things keep going the way they seem to be going... In years to come our whole way of life and that of our grandchildren will be forever changed because a few F-Ups and their plan for us to bend/bow and cater to ethical behavior. This is but one of many small examples of how we are being held hostage in our own country.

I would have to agree *censored*'em they have no right. My wonderfully intelligent brother last year ( he still is in high school) decided to get caught underage drinking during labor day holiday vacation. I know shame shame, but the situation was harmless. The school suspended him. This incident did not happen at or anywhere near the school or on school time or have a goddamn thing to do with school. So where do they have the right? But I guess underage drinking up here in rural pa is where we breed terrorism, or at least thats how it was treated. .... I did give 'em a good swift kick in the ass which is what he needed anyway :nono:
