Guess that would be a forced vacation since stoves and coal are more than one thing, so then I would have to say a GPS Emergency xmitter/beacon for rescue! That way I could get back to my projects when I couldn't stand the peace and quiet any more!

5 years? moderate climate, ample vegetation?

hmmm.

detailed field guide for the region. (ie. temperate forest, tropical isle etc) and the knife in my pocket if that counts as the "clothes on my back"
blades can be made, traps can be set, debris shelters are easy. Knowing which plant is good for burns and which one will make you your insides out ... priceless.

Reason: Please no expletives, Google don't like bad words and neither do some of the other people who frequent this site. I'm working on getting a filter set up then it won't matter as you will have to turn it off in the user control panel to see them.

Arrrgh you took my object. :D I figured the same. I could easily survive in the woods indefinitely with such a book even without the knife.

Here is my choice. I'll bet she could gun down dinner in a hurry and snuggle close to keep you warm.

Feel free to censor

Sounds like survior man to me! If no fresh water, nothing else matters. Give me a hand operated water desalinator and some beer yeast!

A laptop with endless battery and internet access. Then I could order all the beer, guns, books and women I wanted. Just air drop them with a parachute and keep on going.
