If stuck on a Island....

If you were going to be stranded on Island/ woods/somewhere remote but with ample plants and wildlife with just the close on your back and one item what would it be (if you pick gun you get all the ammo you want)?

At first i though swiss army knife or some kind of practical knife myself but the more I thought about it a gun would be very practical too. Only reason being many of the functions of the knife could be accomplished from animal parts. Easy fresh meat would be nice, making rudimentary cutting tools wouldn't be that hard.

But that is not what I would pick, I'll leave it open for discussion and then let you know.

Helicopter. Seriously I would pick woman if that is an option. Survival is relatively easy but solitude can be unbearable.

Good answer. ....but your island is the middle of nowhere and you have no maps, don't know where your at and chances are you're going to die on lift off since you most likely don't know how to fly the helicopter. Even assuming you could you don't have enough gas... BTW... Supertanker is not an acceptable pick either.

hmmm.. Didn't think about companionship, guess that's a good answer. Even if she was evil to the bone at least you'd have someone. But lets say you can't pick a companion either, must be an object.

Bunch of damn wiseguys... You can't get off the island you're stuck there for 5 years.

M-16 definitely. I never was a sharpshooter but I could put enough lead downrange to be able to eat daily.

Burned a lot of ants with that thing and started a hell of a lot of fires in leaves with it too. It wasn't even glass, some kind of plastic, virtually unbreakable, hinged and able to close it in its own pocket size case.

yup...now that i think of it more...what the heck...endless amount of fire as long as it's a sunny island and an endless amount of entertainment as long as there are ants on the island!!!

Matthaus would want an endless supply of deep-mined coal and a bunch of used stoves so he could keep himself busy.

A hot blond with the brains of an armadillo would be nice, at first.
I'll take an endless supply of Yuengling Amber Lager in cans. I could use the cardboard cases for many things, and the cans supply thin aluminum which I could fashion into many useful tools. I'd also have to drink it , but that's a necessary evil to get the empties.
I could use my glasses to refract the sun's rays to start a fire, using the cardboard as kindling. And all that wildlife I'd be eating will taste better in a beer flavored marinade.

I think you're on to something there Wood'nCoal , you could melt the aluminum and fabricate a canoe. That's a lot of cans.

I think if you drank enough beer to melt the empties into a canoe you'd be too fat to fit in said canoe!!

Ah yes, but necessity is the mother of all inventions, as the canoe progressed, I could continue to empty the cans to make the canoe as large as necessary, even if it began to resemble a back woods version of the Queen Mary!
