The high here was 46 degrees today. It will be 36 degrees tonight, 37 degrees tomorrow night, and 41 degrees Sunday night. I have turned my thermostats back on.

FF sleeping is way overrated.....staying in a constant state of denial would keep ya in some river in Egypt and shriveled like a freezing prune.... Maybe I could start an indoor incubation business and get some hot chicks to stay warm with...? 8-)

Got up to 67° today .... only to plummet to 47° in less than 5 hours. House is still 70° right now, but won't be in the morning if it stays below 45° outside.

My stove is all cleaned out. Ain't burning nothin' this deep into the season. That's what Duofold & sweatshirts are for. ;)

I bought a little flame affect light for the new mica stoves LED BOB Chauvet, it's inside the stove ..cccooooooolll. . Very realistic and the power output is only 33W. It's cold here so I snuggled up to the pretend stove and imagined I was warm and guess what, that didn't do c rap.

My wife has promised me that if she sees me reach for the HO thermostat switch she will smack me and with those biceps.... The switch is now labeled only activate in case of nuclear war. I"m still doing fencing as our Mexican barn help won't work outside in these conditions and I have a load of 18" wood pieces. Of course, I just took a load to the dump but I have a load left..... hmmmm... Jotul 507 on wood.... hmmmm. I may have to break another vow, me a wood burner ..... hmmm ....but I"m freezing my nuts off. This cold spell in only due to last until Sunday but they never get the forecast right and do I really want to clean the stove out again????.

The only person who can forecast the next 1000 years is our new energy secretary, another twit who just knows the earth is warming up. Moniz is another theoretical MIT physics major who tried to run a lemonade stand but it went bust.

So much for the forecast of 37 degrees. I just woke up to see 31 degrees and heavy frost this morning. Worried about the garden.

Ohhh man that sucks bro, I know how that goes all to well from experience  31 Degrees is to cold (especially with all the moiture/dampness we've had)... Garden is shot (even if some things survive a brief cold snap like that they never seem to flourish or be what they should have been), The lettuces might make it if its only a brief one night cold snap. How large is the garden? When this happened to me before I would simply start fresh and take the cheat sheets out and buy some already grown stuff from loews or home depot or whatever (P.S. if you did not start your stuff from seeds and still have the packages Loews would take your returns and replace them!)

It's a small garden, only 16' x 16'. My wife concerns me. She recently heard some crazy granny whim that says to save frozen garden plants, hose them down at sunrise, so she hosed down the garden this morning, and the heavy frost is still on the ground and rooftops as I'm typing this.

31 degrees and heavy moisture/frost makes the garden "toast" Some day when she goes out, run down Lowe's and replace all the stuff, its only 16x16 and though any garden is work, Ive lost 100 x 50 before trying to fight the battle after a frost only to be frustrated at why all my stuff was stunted and not producing :(

Then you can say "OMG Hunny you did it!, you got the magic touch"
