Cheerios bi-racial ad

PostBy: samhill On: Sun Jun 02, 2013 8:50 am

Should Cheerios cave in to those in our modern day society that don't like it or should they be applauded for bringing a increasingly real life scenario into focus?

Not sure exactly what you mean by "cave to those who don't like it" .... but the only place there is a majority of minorities is in the cities. Even in MA, where I live, all races besides white combined make up LESS THAN 3% of the population.

I'm not racist - there's plenty of jackass whites to go around as well - jackasses come in all colors. I'm an equal opportunity hater. ;) That said, commercials today already use a disproportionate amount of minorities in their ads. If you watch mainstream TV channels, you'd think the country was 95% black/asian/latino and 5% white.

If that makes people feel better, then have at it I guess. Really couldn't care less either way. I know reality from TV -it's very clear from where I sit.

I never saw the ad, however as someone who is in a bi racial marriage, I see nothing wrong with mixing races. The Lord made us all different colors and there is nothing wrong with mixing it up!!

A horse and a donkey have similar genetic makeup, but are different species. When they are bred, they make a mule. A mule is sterile and cannot be bred. A dog and cat are different. They cannot make offspring. If people of different races were THAT different, then our offspring would not be able to reproduce!!!! Therefore we are all the same!!!

A White man can seduce an Asian woman and procreate the same way that a Black man or Middle Eastern man can. The same is true when the sexes are reversed. Therefore we are all the same species. The same tactics of procreation are used for all races. Whereas a bird may display his feathers to entice a female bird and she decides if he is a suitable mate. A horse will fight off other horses to win a herd of females. Obviously drastically different ways of getting a mate.

...I always believed that our ancestry tells us what we think we are, our peers see what we actually are, and our children tell the lord what we truly are..my 2 cents...

It seems to a lot of people that I know, including me. That people that are of different race make more of an issue of not being white than a white person. I personally could care less the tone of someones skin. Treat me with respect you get respect in return, I do not judge a person on looks. If you are a productive member of society you get my respect. Its pretty simple.

Again it all falls back on the politically correct nonsense we are being taught to conform to. If you are White American, Black American, Native American. To me you are American.
If you are a White thief or a green thief you are a thief or a criminal. Again straight forward simple.

I don't even know what this is all about.

Which should be some sort of an indication of how much I actually care.

I doubt that multi-ethnic, or bi-racial, or dual human couples procreated in order to be applauded, They did it because ( if you could invent it you and all of your descendants would ever have to work a day in their lives ) they were attracted to each other.....to point to something for affirmation can cause pro and con and to hold your hand over your mouth while yawning and say ho humm nothing to see here, just move along. The world would be a better place!

It's not just Cheerios. It's the latest Madison Avenue hip thing to show multi-racial couples. It's not my cup of tea but then I'm an old fart. The ship has already sailed on race mixing. In a hundred years or so, a "white" person will be a rare bird. Everyone will be tan.

That's not true. Caucasian is dominant , and Asian or Chinese is dominant over Caucasian. We are more likely to have an Oriental look in a few hundred years.

Actually many of us Caucasians are a mix of Oriental blood already, the Khans had a thing about mixing their blood lines with those that they conquered I recall reading in The Smithsonian (I believe) that perhaps as many as one out of six of us has traceable blood to them. The world was a lot smaller then & they controlled most of it.
