Bad word Censor

I've added a list of bad words the forum will automatically filter. This filter is on by default, you can turn it off in your profile.

Go to: User Control Panel >> Board Preferences Tab >> Edit Display Options >> Set "Enable word censoring:" to No.

Bad words don't bother me I've been known to let a few fly myself. They do bother some and more important to me I don't want search engines labeling the site as adult oriented. Anyhow its a good compromise but I'd still prefer that its kept as clean as possible so lets not go overboard with it. If you don't like it you can kiss my ass. <------Edit: was censored

If you find any words that are being inadvertently filtered which is entirely possible because some are based on wildcards or words that should be filtered let me know.

The only problem is that some words have multiple meanings (see my PMs). No big deal, I was only busting your ass!

Very true, as I mentioned if you come across anything let me know. The list is quite extensive, I didn't produce it myself and I'll remove censored words as needed. I'm only looking to filter the George Carlin type banned words "*censored*, piss, *censored*, *censored*, cocksucker, *censored*, and tits "

Already removed a few, the words breast, ass and damn for example was among them... Obviously a little overzealous.

I wonder if any of these words will be picked up, or if the context matters at all:

The words are not based on context, they can either be full words or wildcards. For example I could ban the word topless by itself or create a wildcard like *less which match any word that ends in "less", or top* which will match any word that starts with "top" or *ople* which would match any word where the string of letters "ople" appears anywhere in the word. Far from perfect but I'll adjust as issues pop up.

Don't like it? turn it off.
