Plumbing fitings

Need to find fittings for pex resistant to acidic water. I was looking at the plastic fittings you crimp the pex to, just not a fan of that(will use if I have to ). Anyone know of a company that make stainless steel fittings for pex, I have searched the net and have not been able to find anything. Also any thoughts on the john guest push lock fittings.

Thanks, Eric

I have never seen stainless pex fittings, and a web search didn't find any either....

Pexsupply has plenty of "PolyAlloy" fittings, the specs look good.

I used the wisboro fittings at my parents house after the flood. I was not a fan of the plastic fittings but after working with it i was sold.

All of my lines have been converted to pex because of acidic water, used plastic fittings. 3 years later still no problems at all.

I piped a friends home about 10 yrs ago and the nasty water caused his brass pex crimp fittings to start weeping after about 4 years. I got the plastic barbed fittings and replaced every fitting. It has been 6 years now and everything seams to be fine. The plastic has outlasted the brass already. :)

When you said "resistant to acidic water." The first thing that came to my mind was Wirsbo. There's no metal at all. It's a tad expensive, and it helps if a friend owns the special tools, but it IS good stuff.

Wirsbo is good stuff. Their fittings are stronger than the tubing, I've been using it for almost 20 years with no problems.
