Perhaps Mike Adams, the Health Ranger has hit the nail on the head. He said:
"If government spying on all Americans is such a good thing, then why is it being conducted in secret?"

No one ratted him out . That computer program was tracking one of his closest known affiliates and the analysts called it 50/50 as to whether or not it was OBL at the compound the affiliate was visiting on a frequent basis .

If the enemy knew we had a program such as this they might more easily figure a way to thwart it, as Im sure they currently are.It certainly wont be as effective any longer. Therefore ,no secrecy, no effectiveness. My real gripe isnt with this program ,its with the Patriot Act which made it possible and anything in the future of the like that will be used against the American people for political reasons. Who has what guns, who has HIV , who picks their nose and eats it.... :wtf:

That's not the story I heard.

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/shakil-af ... cD0w5xaTg0

The recently-jailed Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA track down Osama bin Laden is not only in danger inside prison, according to officials there, but now faces threats from the Taliban and another terrorist organization should they find him outside.

Dr. Shakil Afridi was sentenced last week to more than 30 years in prison -- a conviction that at the time was reportedly linked to his role in running a vaccination program for the CIA near bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The ploy was an attempt to collect DNA from bin Laden's relatives and verify the al Qaeda leader was indeed in the compound. Bin Laden was killed in a Navy SEAL raid on the compound May 2, 2011.

This program is about as UN-American as it gets. Simple. It can be used to control people that is my biggest problem. I don't doubt it can be used for security very effectively. But I would not like to give up so much liberty for it. I may not be used against us today but who knows tomorrow what it will bring.

Bingo! Only in Fascist societies you are supposed to squeal on those who do not get with the program. He squealed on the program itself.

“Where is the outrage ......”.

Maybe there is no outrage because a lot of Americans are already exposing a lot of their private lives by public media sites like FarceBook and Tweeter.

I am an operator of a small town website that, until a few months ago, was not controversial until a group of residents tried to sneak through a petitioned warrant article at the annual town meeting for the town to donate $95,000 to a local charter school. I exposed their underhandedness on the website and got enough town voters to show up at the meeting to defeat the article.

During the process of exposing the warrant I received an anonymous email threat, well the author thought he was anonymous. Using simple search engine techniques I traced the emailer to a Twitter account and found all kinds of information about him including his full name. Using that information I found that he is listed on three sex offenders sites.

Snowden simply waltzes out of hong kong as if USA had not filed anything with hong kong authorities requesting to arrest him or hold him via international law guidelines

He is now heading to parts unknown with a pocket full of cash and free plane tickets supplied by the good people of Hong Kong (lets assume he is heading to Russia now or Maybe Cuba ;) ) to teach them all he may know regarding our Governments dirty lil' secrets.

Lets face facts here... USA got caught doing what they should not have been doing (whether you believe it was wrong or not) USA is not supposed to be wire tapping any and every phone across the world it feels like. Snowden merely made us aware of what USA should not have been doing so haphazardly and without consent and awareness of congress. Now USA says "were going to arrest you and lock you up, shut you up and hold you down for 50 years because you ratted on us" (USA would have been a lot better off if they simply said "Snowden, your correct that some of things being done were plain wrong and we acknowledge that, your going to get a free pass and at this point need to shut your mouth please)... at least then they would have had the hope of not loosing him to each one of the very people/Governments the USA was spying on! As I said in my previous post Hong Kong wont do anything to this man (he is a national hero in their eyes)... Russia damb sure wont do anything to him and you can bank on the fact Cuba wont give 2 shyts about any request of the American Government to extradite him to USA.

bottom line USA messed up and got caught, now USA is messing up again by handling this man wrong and putting us at more risk and certainly more costs over the long haul.

But isn't it an accepted fact that the USA is the policeman of the world? Isn't that the mission that our Constitution defines for us?

well, our laws say they are aloud to do that if its in the intrest of our national security (who is the watch dog that determines if something is being done for national security reasons VS *censored* reasons VS tax/money laundering reason, etc is beyond me???) maybe someone can tell me who is the one in control to make this determination and is their any safe gaurds in place to ensure when we are throwing personal rights of privacy out the window its being justified 100% for national safety?

All that aside... none of these other countries would agree its OK for USA to spy on them and their citizens for any reason! This is the problem... we had the equipment to do it and they do not and now that is all going to change because of this one whistle blower and the USA should have taken the tack of giving him whatever he needed to stfu and stay in America if America is so concerned about policing the world  Idiots!!! USA is never going to see this guy again and now whomever gets him is going to have a lot of info that will eventually put our national at risk (The pres. should have worked out a deal with him immediatly instead of charging him).

This is where we can show a sense of national pride and do what we do better than anyone in the world as we now furiously shut the stable door After the horse has bolted You know like after the Chinese got ALL of our nuclear weapon designs and the blueprints of the Littoral Navy ship hence saving 25 years of work etc.etc. I am sure they thought those football sizes stadiums being built were hot dog stands. So now they have all the detailed designs on Freetown Freds outhouse and their Cray computers can tell when he is gong to take a dump.

The CIA hasn't been worth a c rap since they fired all of our old time real agents and replaced them with computer savvy Ivy school crowds. That's all we can spy on these days US citizens everybody else is way ahead of us. I am sure that Snowden is not a source of useful information. The Russians/Chinese did not even bother to debrief him and that shows how much they care. He is just a way of embarrassing the hell out of the narcissistic priks that govern us.Now O useless one is going to get firm with the Russians...................... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA, I am sure they are quaaaaaaacking in their boots. Kerry has taken up the charge with the first serious US threat in that he is going to tell his wife to cut off the Ruskies ketchup supply, now that will bring them to their knees........ :D :D
