Almost but the humidity is much worse. :) We hit 94* this afternoon with a quick moving thunderstorm just to make things interesting. There will be more of the same the rest of the week. Lisa

I believe that the intensity of the suns rays has increased somehow these past years. One can get cooked very easily these days without any trouble at all. Extra watering of the garden is also required when the weather turns "jungle" on us. Mike

What happened to the big scare about the damage to the Ozone Layer?? I've not heard or read anything for years.. I wonder if we ARE getting more unfiltered sunlight, it does seem to be more intense the last few years..

It was terribly muggy around here for most of yesterday...than at 5 pm or so we got a very intense thunderstorm that dropped about 1.5" of rain on us.

On Monday we hit a heat index of 102° - that was about 90° out with a dew point of 76°, 60% humidity. I was wrenching on a tractor that day, but at least I was in the shade. Yesterday the heat index only hit 92°, so I spent 5 hours mowing, weedwacking, & leaf blowing. Went through a tank and 3/4 on the weedwacker - it got some use yesterday! Pretty sticky - everything was stuck to me.

I love the heat. Keeps me motivated. When I get too hot, I come sit in the A/C & suck down some sweet tea. With cold, there's no relief. Even with the stove cranking this house still feels like a barn.

Last I read, the situation was greatly improved -- not entirely back to normal, but getting there. Hard to believe the country and the world managed to come together enough to save us from ourselves. :!: :)

As we age our skin starts to break down and gets thinner. As such skin does not build back up like it did when one was younger. So in a manner YES the power of the Sun is stronger than when we were kids. But only in a sense that it is actually US that is weaker.

It truly sucks getting old!

We sure would have greeted this weather in Feb,................ but the damned humidity sure makes it much worse than the temps. The mosquitoes are REALLY HAPPY...and the skin cancer Docs are looking at job security.

...and for those not too old to remember......sundresses, skimpy attire and all that goes with it......oops, motorcycles, too.
