Coffee, June 29, 2013

PostBy: Freddy On: Sat Jun 29, 2013 5:37 am

Welcome friends! Come in, pull up a stool & stay a spell. French toast & bacon smells good. Let's eat! Tis a good day to relax and have a slow day....for most.... I have three medical exam tables to re-upholster before Monday morning at 7AM. I've got to slurp down some coffee and get to work.

I had to go rescue Marty this week. She & her sister went strawberry picking and took the electric car....too far! I could see miscalculating and coming up a few miles short, but they were 20 miles from home and only had 3 miles of battery left! Oddly, they were less than 3 miles from camp. I met them there for supper & gave the car a quick charge. Hmmmm..... you think they planned the whole thing?

For those that can, it might be a good idea to buy coal in the next 8 weeks....it's just easier during the summer.

Those exam tables....remove 8 screws, lift the table off the frame, but, it doesn't lift off. Huh? Some extra investigation & we find it's 12 screws. Under each leg is a screw! So, instead of lifting the table off the frame, we have to turtle the table, remove all four legs, then the last screws. Grrrr...stupid design! Also, this means we must put the brand new fabric ON the floor to reassemble. Grrr. Ya, ya, yaaa, put blankets down first, just more work.

Hug your loved ones....enjoy the weekend.

I awoke to the sound of our little guy coughing...sounds like a barking seal. Looks like he has croup and we have to change our plans and stay home today. I hope everyone has fun at the meet 'n greet.

Well here it is another nice summer morning in Pa. Today it is time to pull every wire and wire connection out of the old Willys.I splurged with a complete new wiring harness and counted up all 74 color coded connections ,easier said than done behind that tight little dashboard, thru the engine compartment and down the frame rails.I want to have this old Willys on the road by light-off time so I have to stay on it. Hey Fred, wanna swap projects for a day?? Mike

Good morning guys, nice simple breakfast this morning Freddy thanks. This week started of with the death of another uncle from cancer :( ,he has been sick for sometime but he is better off now the last few weeks have not been so good but life must go on.Freddy you better install a generator in that electric car so when she goes a little to far she can recharge it her self :D .
Well its almost July and things are moving right along, doing lots of camping, replacing OEM parts on my old beast of a truck, and I am finally picking up my round chimney liners on Monday so I can get that project finished and be ready to burn some black rock.
My wife and I decided to upgrade campers after talking about what we would like and deciding on a floor plain we liked we singed on the dotted line,we pick it up the second week in July but all in all things are ok but I wish the meet and greet didn't get moved but what can you do.take care everyone and be safe.Keepaeyeonit

Good morning all, another wet one in these parts I may try & work on getting the oven igniter thing out the oven today, should be fun with one arm, my doc says there ain't no plan B for my shoulder it's either take it easy & let it heal or live with it. This getting old & having parts wear out is for the birds, I may not even be able to burn coal this winter so I hope it's gonna be a warm one. Hopefully the weather will be good for the meet & greet, everyone have fun & stay safe.

Good morning all. Coffee is amazing. I woke up early to go to the MUA. Had some stuff to get rid of before family starts showing up for my son's graduation party.

Took the truck out for a drive the other day and the damn exhaust fell off. Thought I could live with it since I only drive it once in a while but it broke by the passenger side manifold. I can't hear myself think. I dropped it off at the garage to get fixed. I don't have the time nor the patience for crawling around on a gravel driveway to replace ityself.

Hope ya all have a good weekend.

I hope your getting over your pneumonia, I came down with some sort of upper respitory thing yesterday, started in my nose and ears the day prior... then yesterday it went to my upper lungs/lower throat area... I sure hope this does not last long (crappie weather, mad because I cant go to meet and greet, and now I got this virus BS to deal with  ).... not a good day for DC :( but I'm wishing everyone a great and relaxing time at the cabin and prayers Fred beats this pneumonia in record time! (force down the fluids! take Vit. C like a mad man and be vigilant with your antibiotic schedule!)

Yeah that crap is going around. Small world. One of my elderly neighbors got rushed to the hospital for it. Severe case of whooping cough. She was coughing so bad she blacked out and went down hard. Looked like she was in a barfight! When in the hospital, the reports were looking grim ... not eating, very weak, antibiotics not working, Dr.'s not sure what she's got, etc ... Thought I'd be headed to another funeral ... but by the Grace of God she pulled through!

Hope you've kicked that nasty crap Fred, and Sam, take it easy on that shoulder dammit! ;) You've only got 2 - and remember .... 2 is 1, and 1 is NONE.

Several forum members are on their way to the Meet N Greet - safe travels to all. And have a few beers for me will ya?! :drunk:

I'm preparing for surgery on the Amtrol this morning. This stupid magic box cost me several gallons of oil, plus probably took 10 years off my equipment's life. DAMN YOU ... ELECTRONIC CRAP!!

Wish me luck boys! I'm goin' in!! :o

I HATE the "new" style. I think I own the very last of the old style & it just works & is so simple. (pushing 20 yrs now) I will never, ever, ever, figure out why they stopped making the most dependable mechanical device in favor of an expensive electronic piece of crud that has a limited life. Makes me wanna scream!

Well good weekend coal forum. Wont be making the meet and greet, i even took a vacation day to make it. My wife last night decided to start having contraction at 6½ weeks till her due date. Drove the hour drive to williamsport and checked her in. Luckily she is only one centimeter diolated, some medicine and IV hydration took care of things. But whew what a long night. So now i get to be MR mom, which is ok by me for awhile. Freetown you have been battling that pneumonia for awhile now, good luck to ya fella. Hey whats an amtrol? Never heard of this contraption...

Funny how life keeps getting in the way of things. I had to decide to cancel attending a couple of weeks back due to the my Mother-in-Laws heart attack and on going heart disease. She was brought home last week and put on hospice. We got word this morning she passed away. RIP. To top it off, a client stopped in Friday to the office and demanded a ridiculous deadline for a job I have been working on. So, on top of everything, I am in the Office today working. Going to the Meet N Greet just wasn't going to be in the cards this year. Maybe next time.
