It's rained here for weeks.... the rainiest June on record. But, today, brilliant sunshine & HOT. Right now, 5:20PM it's 87 in the shade & 95 in the sun.
Nice & clear for fireworks tonight. They are promising the best show in history. That could mean an entire 15 minutes!

It was 54 degrees in Susanville, Union of California Socialist Republic this morning. It has warmed up nicely. There are legal fireworks here in Medford, Or. but I have to fly in a plane tomorrow and can't take them with me.

Don't have much around these parts unless you want to drive an hour or better up to Erie, wouldn't want to upset the dairy cows anyway it would drive the price of milk up. The local cherry crop is pretty much done for, way too much rain they are all splitting & getting mold before they can be picked so don't expect much of a bargain there either. Have a nice evening.
Happy fourth. Yesterday I got up super early (7:00a) and got the smoker fired up. At 8:00 I tossed in 8.5 pound pork shoulders and let them cook for about 10 hours. When they were done I ( with the help of my 92 year old mom) pulled the meat. We made a batch of coleslaw with a mao dressing and a batch of slaw with a vinegar based dressing.
This morning I got up early again lit the smoker and cooked a chicken. While that was cooking I made a vinegar based sauce. We brought all this over to my aunts house for a family party. There was not much left over.
Along with two kinds of chowder, salad, chips and dips, shrimp cocktail and corn on the cob I almost had to be rolled out of the house.

Should've come to my house. My inconsiderate neighbors lit off fireworks for 5 hours. My daughter refused to sleep because she was scared. I got an hours worth of sleep. Should be a fun day of driving around working.Freddy wrote:It's rained here for weeks.... the rainiest June on record. But, today, brilliant sunshine & HOT. Hope everyone enjoys their Friday off. I'm gonna be pissed off all day due to no sleep. Hopefully I can stay awake behind the wheel.
I hate people who come to the lake during the summer.

EXCELLENT video Dave! Hear hear!
So many Americans haven't a clue what was sacrificed ... for the freedom to cry about trees, the environment, chant "hail satan" toward Christians who sing God Bless America, or to demean everything our country stood for while allowing those who don't belong here unfettered access.

Good God Almighty ....
That was depressing. In order to get the festive mood back ..... behold! The mighty (little) cannon reports yet again!

So, I was subject to 6th of July fireworks by the jackasses in my lake. Had to endure another five hours of some jackass shooting fireworks off right over my house and listening to exceptionally loud music until 1 am. Thing that pisses me off most is that the noise ordinance goes in effect at 11pm and they are allowed to go well beyond that.
I'm thinking of filing a formal complaint with the town come Monday. Since the fireworks violate not only the state's law but the ordinance on several points.
-Annoying Noise (kept me and My three year old up)
-Unsafe conditions (firing explosives over people's homes?)
Those are just the two I'm listing here.
I know some might disagree with me and that's ok. I'm all for fireworks for an hour or two. But not for five hours and not in a residential neighborhood. These idiots who come up from the city in the summer have no consideration or respect for anyone. They do whatever the feel like because they are here for 3 months a year and feel entitled to it. Well...I live here. Year round. The most they could do is have a little consideration for people around them.
I've been tempted the past few days to get up early, say at 4 am and get in my truck and drive through the neighborhood blasting loud music and laying on my horn. Hey, if they feel it's ok to keep me up at night then I'll make damn sure they've got a real good hangover headache by waking them up.

I agree with you.I'm On Fire wrote:I know some might disagree with me and that's ok
It's the idiots among us that spoil things for everybody which results in more and more regulation and loss of freedom.
