4th of July coffee 2013

PostBy: Freddy On: Thu Jul 04, 2013 5:01 am

Happy 4th of July! Coffee to get us started, blueberry muffins to keep us going. It's been 237 years since we adopted the constitution. Let's shoot some fireworks, eat a cheeseburger, and aim for another 237.

Enjoy!

Good morning, and Happy 4th of July. I have the day off and managed to sleep in a bit. No big plans for the day, maybe mow my lawn that is 2 weeks overdue.

Happy 4th to all as well, looks kind of wet here but maybe it will clear up some this evening. Hope everyone stays safe & keeps a special watch on the young ones, always a bad day for ERs & burns.

I also wanted to mow my well overdue lawn today, but it is soaked, and there is a 60% chance for additional soaking here today.

It's raining here in North GA, too, and has been for a couple of days. The lakes and creeks are full. Hopefully, it will clear up by this evening and we'll be able to set off our fireworks. The locals were planning to set theirs off on Saturday anyway so no worries there. As always not much going on in rural North GA., I hope everyone has a great Independence Day. Lisa

I'm in Blue Ridge that's about an hour from I-75 and real close to Murphy, NC and Copperhills, TN. My parents retired here about 15 years ago. I grew up in Tucker just north of Atlanta. That's next to Stone Mountain which is better known. It is the world's largest exposed piece of granite. It has a huge curving on it depicting Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and Jefferson Davis. The same guy who curved Rushmore did it. Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson are still folk heroes in the rural south. Tonight they will have fireworks from the base and the top of the mountain. The sound bounces off the front of the stone, magnifying it so you can hear it for miles. It's really cool but too far away for us now.

We went to TN to buy fireworks and will set them off in the drive way tonight. We asked for the quiet ones because they are illegal in GA. ;) Happy Independence Day, Lisa

Wow I thought MA was the only state that outlawed fireworks .... but then what do I expect from a state that requires a firearms license ..... for carrying a SPICE ... GA is freer than MA will ever be. At least until our blockheaded voters wake the hell up!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY all! Here's to gaining our independence once again at some point soon. :)

I shall bust out the cannon later tonight. :D

I just mowed my wet yard. It had to be done! The old 1995 era John Deere 445 made it easier than I had expected. :D

Now that I'm done, the sun is coming out.
