Gotta move in by the 20th as we leave for Downeast Maine on the 26th. Hey Lisa, how far over in GA are ya? I work in the N.West corner abut every day.
I'm in Blue Ridge that's about an hour from I-75 and real close to Murphy, NC and Copperhills, TN. My parents retired here about 15 years ago. I grew up in Tucker just north of Atlanta. That's next to Stone Mountain which is better known. It is the world's largest exposed piece of granite. It has a huge curving on it depicting Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and Jefferson Davis. The same guy who curved Rushmore did it. Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson are still folk heroes in the rural south. Tonight they will have fireworks from the base and the top of the mountain. The sound bounces off the front of the stone, magnifying it so you can hear it for miles. It's really cool but too far away for us now.
We went to TN to buy fireworks and will set them off in the drive way tonight. We asked for the quiet ones because they are illegal in GA.
Happy Independence Day, Lisa
