Yes that is unusual, but they can get pretty big, even the short hair cats. I remember seeing pics of a cat in a British pub that I think weighed 50 pounds but it was very fat as well as big.

We can't forget the dignity and grace our animal friends contribute to our lives.
The last pic shows the Obama contribution to commerce.

Now those were some BIG little kitties! Holy *censored* is right!
I've got a Maine Coon myself. Buddy - we got him as a housewarming gift from my best friend ... and he got it FREE! I think someone was very angry that next day to find their prize kitten given away ...
We've got 4 of them. Buddy (male), Inga (female tabby), Ozzy (male tuxedo), & Lovey (female tuxedo). Guess which one I had no say in naming?
The 2 tuxedo cats I rescued - one from a divorce, and one from certain death by abandonment after a foreclosure. My brother and sister in law left her at the abandoned house. I told my wife to tell them to get their asses back down there and don't leave until they FIND that cat and bring it HERE. I was pissed! That was a mean, mean kitty when she got here. Can't blame it - had a rough life! Now 3 years later, she's my pal. Hisses at everyone else, but I can rub my face right on hers and she just purrs away. Think she knows I saved her. She's a much happier soul now.
Anyway ... here's the crew:
Buddy and Inga: Buddy: Buddy again: Inga: Inga loves the coal! : And the dryer ... And the 90° heat on the porch ... Ozzy, the climber ...
Lovey ... shitting without one paw in the litter ... Always watching you ... And Buddy takes after his owner ...

Dogs need to be taught, it's time consuming but can be rewarding for years on end. Most people don't have the time or patience to really train a dog well. I had dog you could put steak on the ground, leave, come back later and it would still be sitting there. I spent hours with that dog and took her many places, she was my sidekick for years. She even knew how to open a tent without destroying it, she'd find the zipper handle and use her nose to nudge it open.2001Sierra wrote: Dogs can be such Dumb a$$'s at times.
This last picture was probably the last trip we did as a group and me with the dog, she's about 11 in this picture and passed away about a year later. It was the exclamation point on a "decade of decadence". I'm not even sure how I managed to get up if you note the date. I'm on the very left, the dog is at my feet.
