Cut the nails on a section of fence, and move out of the way. When your done put it back together with screws so you can just move it every year.

My college roommate spent a couple summers painting houses. Some years later my house needed scraping and painting, and I had no tools, so I asked him what kind of scrapers I should use. He said, "Young strong ones. High school kids." So that's my recommendation to you. Get 'em a rugged wheelbarrow with a big wheel and put 'em to work for an afternoon.

Actually, getting the bags across the yard sounds like the easy part. How do you get them down the cellar stairs? You might as well be burning wood, for all the times you have to lift and move and restack the coal!

It's a walk-out basement with 3 steps up. I don't even have to climb a step...I have the coal bags stacked on the cement ledge of the steps. (ledge is about 36" off the ground) I step out of the back door, put the coal hod down, grab a bag & fill it up & go back in. No heavy lifting! (last year I even put an awning up that extends about 10' back & covers the steps, the stacked coal bags, etc. I close the awning in the summer as my wife doesn't like the looks of it. There's even enough room for my dog to go out , climb the steps & take a leak without getting wet!)
