Yea, I've noticed the Introduce yourself thread seems to be hot these days. Lot's of folks looking to offset that high energy cost. The smart ones come here and burn coal.

The not so smart ones (me) try something else for a couple of years but eventually make it here.

Nice, that's pretty accurate too because I purged the memberlist a few weeks back of anyone that had 0 posts and didn't visit since Jan of '06.

I think we should keep this coal thing just with us and not let anymore in :D . The price of coal will be rising with all this traffic .The secret coal society . Yea thats it . Coal is a filthy dirty lousy form of heat . Much better off with wood . ;) Dave

Yippee, spread the word, brag to your friends , coworkers how warm your house is! The more people who add a coal stove the better! Better for them, the ecomony of NEPA and the country!
Think about it, If a million households in the Northeast, joined us and saved 500 gallons of oil a season, thats 500 million less demand. What would that do to the bottom line! :flex:

I wonder what the per ton cost to extract the coal and prepare it for sale is? Assuming an established company is doing the work.

Well, Coalberner had a place that was selling it for $120 a ton, I'm sure their not making a killing, so the cost has to be less then that here in NEPA. Even some kind of Co-op might be the way to go. Buy in bulk in the off season and load up in advance!

I've actually contacted a few coal distributors asking what kind of a deal they could give to a buying group that would buy between 25 and 50 tons. Let's see what they say.
