Went to a yard sale in Norwell and happened to see this lil' "Franz Stove" beauty still piped into flooded basement of a tear down! I know these old cannon heaters are a dime a dozen but this one had its original grate (external shaking!) and also had firebrick in place (Its clearly not a precast firebrick, I guess they must have smeared refractory cement along its walls and build it up to proper thickness???). Im missing the shaker handle only (seems to be a common theme with any stove I find  ) ... anyways, here she is freshly dug out of the old muddy muck shack in the heart of Norwell. (another one saved by the good guys!)

Exactly, gives me something to keep busy... super easy to clean, tighten, paint, smear a new liner in her, oil the heck out of it and let it sit in the archives.
