1,600 kWh ?!? How's that grow operation treatin' ya? :P  Holy crap I think the feds would be here inspecting my greenhouse for a heat signature with those numbers. :D I thought I was off the charts at 800! Bill was $114!

600 would be well in the $300 range after all these damn fees this state racks on. Probably $50 in taxes alone ... and taxed at a higher rate because you used more than 600 kWh ...and don't forget the extra distribution charges for using more than 600 (is this some magic progressive number or something???) , and who can forget that alternative energy tax .. because alternative energy SUCKS right now and can't compete fairly in the free market system, and the other 14 or so additional fees and taxes. Energy efficiency charge .. renewable energy charge ... transition charge (???) .. CUSTOMER charge (???????) .................... obama sucks at creating jobs charge .... :|

Our rate is only .07251 cents per kWh .. but add all these *censored*' fees on ....!!!

Good grief! And everyone wonders why I used to drink myself stupid on a NIGHTLY basis ...

I am in the market for a 10k size with electric start.
... Don't now what's in your budget, but look at the Generac generators. I've got 11k 200 amp propane one and glad to spend a little more for it. It's program once a week to start and run for 15 mins, if electric goes out within a min generator kicks on. For approx $750 more then a gas portable generac you can get propane auto one with transfer switch. This was comparing apples to apples on 10 kw
