Not much has changed in 80years

Came across this written by a Marine Major General 80 years ago, I think it's a shame that no one has ever learned or cared how we constantly get duped. It used to be about every few decades now it seems like some would have wars every year as long as others fought & died & they made money. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/80-years- ... 56847.html

I like this quote.

There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

And we were warned again in later years

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.
