As far as I know (going by what I remember reading in a post long ago), the ignitor was never developed. Just too many obstacles to overcome - that's what I got from what I read.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong ...

I think if you go to their HOME page--it states this info is from prior to the 2008-2009 burning season. I'd call them & ask "what's up"

The igniter module was developed and was selling for a short time. However, there proved to be some reliability problems with the igniter elements due to a combination of manufacturing and materials issues. Some elements would last for a year or more and through upward of a hundred ignition cycles. Others would burn out in one or two starts. We determined what was going wrong, however fixing the issues for the quantities we were targeting and profit margins we needed was not economically feasible.

We continue to hope we can bring this product to market once again, but for the time being it is on indefinite hold.

We will be updating the website for this season, including:
- Reorganizing the site. Moving old products to a new discontinued section. Updating product breakdown and detail information, as well as comparison information.
- Adding our OEM product offerings to the site since the majority of people are exposed to the Coal-trol as factory install equipment
- With permission of our partners, perhaps offering OEM specific manuals for download along with links to their sites and stove information.
- Latest product manuals and information

That all said, you can certainly put a Coal-trol on your Channing stoker stove, Scottshotgun. If you need more information or would like to discuss your setup, feel free to call us at 315-299-3589, email us at coaltrol@automationcorrect.com, or ask here in the public forum or PM me.

I know, I know. It's a bit stale. :)

Different irons in the fire and this one has been left waiting for too long, unfortunately.
