I'm sure some members are old enough to remember the old TV game show "To Tell The Truth" (in which celebrity panelists quiz three contestants to identify two imposters. At the end of the game Gary Moore would say..."Will the real ________ please stand up.")
Has anyone noticed that national politics has turned into a real life version of this game?
Here's how the game works:
We (the voters) serve as the celebrity panelists & a parade of contestants (politicians seeking office) come before us & try to hide who they really are until they the very end of the game. (They only show their true identities when safely ensconsed in office) In order to be more succesfuly in hiding their true identities, they each hire a team of proffesional ad men & handlers who tell them: what to wear, say, walk, eat, how to smile, etc)
Great premise for a TV game show...Lousy way to choose our leaders!
