Hello List!
I came home to a cold house tonight ( 65F ). Just a tad colder than I like it. Since my son can't recognize a tired coal fire from an robust fire, I had to bring her back alive before it was too late.
For you baro damper fans, no my baro damper is not currently circumvented. I removed the foil after my stack temps rose up to 500F. The w.c. was at 5mm or 1.9" whiled foiled. I removed the foil and it is back to 2.0mm or .078"
Hot air temps at 335F
Felling warmer now!

Hi Mark,
Apparently my wife has the same problem as your son. I arrived home at 7 pm tonight to the stove completely out. I am currently bringing the new fire up after emptying the stove. It's 61 up here (2nd floor). The wood burner is going, but the heat from it really doesn't help the upstairs.
Glad you defoiled the baro for the cold weather. My chimney's been drawing an incredible draft since it got real cold.

If I only had a draft-free home!
Stove was cranking & it was 54* on first floor, 49* in bedroom (top floor). Was -2* outside.
Funny how this is normal to me.... must be the booze
