If you have rafters bearing on a ridgeboard(1x? or 2x?),Greenlight.If you have a massive BEAM on which the rafters set or are hung from joist hangers,Redlight!!! It is most unlikely you have that condition in this neck of the woods. If you have any doubt simply post a photo of the ridge and I can tell you for certain.
