I vote for the add-on coal/wood boiler if you can get wood cheap or close to free. If not, a stoker boiler. That's my $0.02.

hcarlow, right now being warm as only a solid fuel can provide is my biggest priority, followed closely by convenience and least amount or work.
My 2 cents. During summer use for DHW I fill hopper once every 13 days and empty ash tub every 3rd day. Winter hopper gets filled 3-4 days and ash tub once a day. Convenience and least amount of work doesn't get any better then a stoker.
