Hand Fed Coal Stove: Crane 404

upon arriving, I walked in to find a large warehouse filled with tables, shelves and 1000's of parts and 2 foreign workers.. so I started poking around since nobody spoke good English... after a while one of the workers tried to ask what I needed and I tried to explain to him I need my stove parts (he tried to make like he was helping but I don't think he understood a damb thing I was saying)... I just kept walking around like I owned the place. After about an hour... finally on a shelf was a box and I could clearly see one Parlor stove footrest sticking out... could it be... YES! halleluiah... Glenwood parts! :dancing:

But wait... Ohhh no... no FINIAL!!! :taz:... I start scetching out at the man "that's important part worth all the money"!!! WHERES MY FINIAL

We continue the search... now im throwing *censored* aside to dig! im climbing on shelves to look on top shelves! :crutch:
Then... when I reached the far opposite corner like a sailor sees the North Star.... their was a filigree hanging by a wire under a shelf ... I start running for it! sure enough theirs the other pieces to the Finial all hanging below it, dude grabs the wire cutters and starts cutting it all down for me!

Then... I start running for the door boxes in hand... but then Don the boss man comes in "oh *censored*"... he says "what are you doing".... Im just picking up my stove parts... he says ohhh were right in the middle of polishing them and they need to be waxed and let me look at those... I give him a peek in my box... he says let me work on them, im not done... "I grab the box like im Walter Payton during the last play of the Super Bowl :out:

Needless to say... Success! .... no no no... stop the applause, just payin' it forward :)

I will say that their is no facility for dipping here if anyone is wondering (lots of wax, buffers, polishers), 1000's of parts scattered everywhere with no apparent numbering or filing system
I would strongly suggest nobody use this company period at this point (I could have walked out with Corvette Parts if I wanted to)... "here to pick my Corvette Parts" thanks Bye!"
Im honestly not sure how it would have turned out if I did not have the hour inside the place to myself and my parts under my arm before anyone of any authority got their.
Maybe Don would have known where everything was, maybe he would have immediately assisted me upon entering, maybe not? (we will never know).

Part are packaged... in mail... and heading HOME!

Good for you. Above and beyond.

That does not look like Glenwood finial parts to me though.

well that makes more sense to me now... That Finial Filigree was the biggest, heaviest, brightest finial I ever saw..It was blinding me :eek2: (I saw it hanging like a xmass ornament from across a 50 yard wharehouse and started pushing everything out my way to get to it!) So that what a Crawford looks like toothy I want me one of those! :mad3:

In all seriousness though this place was like a large indoor junkyard (it was THAT bad)! and idk if they are subbing out the plating or wtf there doing... they damb sure aint plating their unless they do it in 5 gallon buckets?

That Marine Corp gear must have been pretty scary. Couple grenades hanging maybe?

Bravo DC, you did the most important thing: get the parts.
Making business with a recognized place is so important , specially when needing a job to be done on Antique and rare parts.
USA have a new Héro now: Cap. DC.
