Which Barodamper and manomter for Harman Mag Stoker ?

PostBy: captcaper On: Thu Sep 05, 2013 7:20 am

I got a new Stoker I have to install soon. Which is the proper field control one to get for this kind of stoker? Also were or how can I get a manometer and find the proper settings for the stove.
I've always had a hand fired stove with a inexpensive baro so this is new and it seems if I don't get the venting proper the stove won't feed, etc. right.

thanks

An RC will work. If you really want to dial it in get a type M whcih is designed for coal and allows more precise setting. You will have to experiment with your setup to determine the best setting. Harman recommends .04 - .06.

Most of the Leisure Line , Alaska, and Reading dealers carry the 6"RC black with a black T. Just FYI

I got the Field Controls type M in 6in as my pipe is 6 inch. I'm working on a Manometer. I only see a blue oil one from Dwyer. Is there a part number you can reply to me with? that will get the job done for the specs' above? Is this the one ? http://www.amazon.com/Dwyer-Series-Molded-Plastic-Manometer/dp/B009PAN3C8/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
I'll keep searching and try to find one but I want to get this thing hooked up. I've been away down south for a few weeks and it's cold now in Northern NH...

Thanks...
I got both the type m and the Mark II coming. I see Harman wants us to adjust the draft in two places. One in front of the stove were they provided a hole and in the flue pipe..
Normally it would of been hooked up already but being an old fart now and too many things on my plate I'm slipping..like I said were in the low 40's here all week. House is cooling down fast. Got to clean my old Mark III and put that up for sale too.

I got the Manometer and Type M control. I have a few questions.
1.On the Harman the manual says to read the draft just below the control and above the collar. Also it says to take the hex plug out of the front of the firebox and read it there with the stove in text mode. The hole is very small. Maybe 1/4".. I'm not sure it I need to do that part of the testing or try to rig up something to fill the hole to be able to test.
2. To adjust the field control I believe I need to turn the round weight thats on the outside. I see there is on on the inside as well on the same shaft.

3. I'm running a 1/4 in copper line up to the meter on a back wall to a short piece of the rubber tube. I see the manometer has 2 tubes together. I only need to hook up one tube on top of the manometer right? Also I should be able to strip the tubing in half and use the other side to stick in the hole in front of the harman for the initial test for the firebox.

Got my Rice coal today.. were above normal temps for a while here so I'm lucky being I'm doing this late in the season as it could of been good and cool this time of year here...

Also Harman guys...there was 3 pieces of fire brick in the ash pan (stove is new) I assume it goes behind the grate assembly. Seems to fit nice there. Not sure though.
