Will a full T/L of coal (~22 tons) occupy 27 cubic yards?

Is my math correct? Will a full truck load of anthracite pea fit into a 27 cubic yard space?

If I am correct one ton will take up 40 cubic feet so 22 tons x 40 = 880. 27 cubic feet in a yard, 27 into 880 = 32.59 so no. But I did stay at a Motel 8 last night.

ETA...

I looked and also found 36.8 per ton, so 36.8 into 809 = 21.98 so maybe yeah.

I extended it from a 5 gallon pail weighing in at 40 lbs.

44,000 lbs./40 lbs. = 1,100 pails

1,100 pails = 5,500 gallons

5,500/7.4805 = 735.25 cubic feet

735.25/27 ~= 27.25 cubic yards
.
If 5 gallon pails actually weigh in at only 38 net lbs, then it would require 40/38 x 27.25 = 28.7 cubic yards.

30 cubic yards should cover all contingencies.

The Stockton I burned 2 years ago would fit in less than 27 cubic yards for a full T/L. It weighed in at 42-43 lbs. per 5 gal. pail.

Actually I measured my nut coal to occupy 32-33 cubic feet per ton. So I get an answer of 26.8 cubic yards for 22 tons based on that. :D
