If it's anything like the creosote buildup that I had to wire brush, scrap, and chisel out of the flues of my range, I hope whoever gets the stove has patients and strength, . . . lots and lots of strength !

Hopefully, they'll find a gem of a stove and it will all be worth it !!!

That's a nice way to heat. That Favorite stove of mine had been used for wood, trash and even rats before I got it. I found what was left of a few dead rats down in the heat runs under the ash pan, and a bunch of half burnt magazines from the 1960's! Mud too, as it was near a river in storage the flooded.
That's a really nice looking stove, you should be very happy with it. If they were burning wood with it, hopefully the magazine stayed with it. It doesn't really look like it will need a whole lot of work, and that sure is nice. Well good luck with it. It sure is a nice looking stove.

Great going kstone, I'm hoping the "reconditioned" just happened and the stove never burned wood, it looks like the previous owner used it for decoration :)

The new stove is hooked up and running nicely . It does have the magazine still attached and installed . The firepot and grate look to be a recast during refurbishing. mica is still dirty in this pic but is clean up slowly with 0000 steel wool and letting a good coal fire help some. more pic to follow will need to completely clean out in off season due to former owner running wood only .

I'm so glad it is breathing right! She looks like she likes a coal fire. What are the stove temp's like and is it doing a good job heating?
